They say that friends are the family you choose, but sometimes friendships with those you choose don’t work out the way you thought they would. In theory, you’d pick friends who share the same interests with you as you think you two have so much in common that there is no way you won’t become the best of friends. What you’re forgetting is that life is about balance, and your friends (if they’re good ones) will balance you. If you’d describe yourself as quiet and shy, your best friend may well end up being the life and soul of the party. It’s okay though, she’ll teach you a few tricks about getting peoples’ attention because you happened to teach her how to do her laundry/budget her wages/organise her life.
